The ways I walk

A solo exhibition @ Anteros Arts Foundation February 2024

‘I tread another year the ways I walked with grief.’ Dorothy Parker

What can be revealed as you follow footpaths and tracks again and again?

How do feelings evolve over time, after loss?

Can the paths we travel bring hope and healing?

I walk to breathe deep

I walk to find peace

I walk to leave fear

I walk to hold hope

I walk to see clear

I walk to stand still

I walk to know Love

The heart breaks and breaks and lives by breaking...It is necessary to go through dark and deeper dark and not turn.

Stanley Kunitz from the poem ‘The Testing Tree’

It is quite possible to leave your home for a walk in the early morning air

and return a different person – beguiled, enchanted.

Mary Ellen Chase

‘But the beauty

is in the walking

- we are betrayed

by destinations
